EG1-SN1 Liberation Begins

D+0 | 20 July 1989, 04:00hrs - 10:00hrs vs @ Leupoldsgruen

The honor of leading the division across the border falls to your regiment. Awaiting you are elements of the US 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment. Intelligence believes there is at least a troop screening along the A9 Autobahn west of Hof. Expect some helicopter and possible artillery support as well, though the belief is most of those assets will not be this far forward.

A company from the division's recon is leading the advance, followed closely by your lead battalion, organized along standard CRP, FSE, and Advance Guard echelons. Do not become entangled in a drawn out, costly battle with the cavalry. Keep pushing, using the regiment's artillery to support your advance. The regiment's other battalions will begin to arrive in the vicinity by mid-morning. The division commander expressed his desire to keep them out of this first fight.

Expect about a company's worth of M1's and M3's guarding the avenue of advance. They will likely have mortars in support, and possibly heavier guns. Also expect to see American Army helicopters operating in the area, in both reconnaissance and attack roles.
